Being extraordinary comes with a couple of pitfalls. First, some people will actively try to hold you back using rules and cultural norms. They feel better about themselves if no one rises above them. Second, once you do succeed, others will attempt to tag along or coerce you out of your benefits. These people are ambitious but lazy.

Keep these pitfalls in mind to avoid being sidetracked or ambushed on your way. Remember why you are on the path you’ve chosen and realize that there are benefits gained through the effort of achievement which often outweigh the end result. Ask any Ironman finisher if they did the 140.6 miles for the money. Ask any employer if they would hire an Ironman finisher.
